Memorial Biography

Jean was born in Boston, MA where her father was a Harvard professor. They moved from Cambridge to Stamford, CT for a few years at U Conn then returned to Massachusetts living first in Wellesley then Weston for the rest of her youth. Jean attended Weston public schools and Walnut Hill High School before entering Hamlin College in St. Paul, MN where she majored in anthropology and theater. Her moving and life adventures took her to Houston TX where Newsweek had announced a plethora of jobs and Tucson AZ. She married Ed, a Texan, whom she ironically met in Cambridge MA, and they lived in Washington DC where Tim was born with midwife supervision in a condo on Connecticut Ave. Ben and Lydia brought them added joy and more home schooling. They returned to Texas but finally the Big Apple called and Jean led the migration to NY. Temp jobs helped her find her niche as an Executive Assistant at a major law firm where her efficiency and command of English grammar are going to be sorely missed. Jean was the leader of her siblings, Barbara, Bruce and Phil, always bringing new health concepts, geneology and family stories. She was a doer and helped greatly as her parents', Dick and Betty Howard, health declined. She could be counted on for ambitious road trips, stories over a bottle of wine and huge hugs. Her tireless spirit, integrity, high energy, intelligence and compassion will always be remembered.
